BASIC HYPNOSIS
Designed to provide both a practical and theoretical understanding of the subject, this class will teach students how to produce the hypnotic trance and how to use it skillfully, safely, and effectively for such purposes as stopping smoking, relieving fears and anxieties, and correcting poor eating habits. The course will examine the history of hypnosis; common misconceptions about it; how to properly explain hypnosis to clients; the structure of the mind and the laws that govern it; factors that influence suggestibility to hypnosis; precautions in the use of hypnosis; and the role of the hypnotist as a healer. This workshop provides 8 hours of basic training toward the National Guild of Hypnotists' certification. Intermediate classes will be offered to those who wish to pursue NGH training and certification.
